Murali was
born at Kudavattor of Quilon district in Kerala as the
eldest son of Mr.P.Krishnapillai and Mrs.K.Devaki Amma.
He completed his schooling at L.P.S and U.P.S Kudavatoor,
while he finished his higher school studies at SKVHS
Thrikkannamangal. Later he attended M.G. College
Thiruvananthapuram, D.B College, Sasthamcottah and Law
Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram. he got the
Kerala State Award for the Best Actor for his
performance in the film "Neithukaaran". Murali's
First film was
‘Njattadi
Murali's wife is Ms. Shylaja,
and daughter Karthika M.S.
He got five Kerala State Government Film awards
The Best supporting Actor - 1989 (Amaram)
The Best Actor - 1992 (Aadharam)
The Best Actor - 1996 (Kaanakinavu)
The Best Actor - 1998 (Thaalolam)
The Best Actor - 2001 (Neythukaran)
